Confirmation

Confirmation

The sacrament of confirmation completes the sacrament of baptism. If baptism is the sacrament of re-birth to a new and supernatural life, confirmation is the sacrament of maturity and coming of age. The real confession of Christ consist in this ‘that the whole man submits himself to Truth, in the judgment of his understanding, in the submission of his will and in the consecration of his whole power of love . . . To do this, poor-spirited man is only able when he has been confirmed by God’s grace’

Holy Rood Youth Ministry runs a comprehensive programme for Confirmation. We endeavour to make sessions fun, enjoyable and relevant to our Young People; because of this the programme is constantly being reviewed and revised. Currently, Confirmation Masses are celebrated in July, but this is subject to change. Details of the next programme will be advertised in the church newsletter and on the Youth Ministry noticeboards, as well on this website.

Confirmation 2020 will be kicking off very soon – the first event is the Taster Session which is taking place on Saturday 1st February or Sunday 2nd February depending on which group the candidate has been allocated to. The programme this year is our biggest yet; please keep all candidates and helpers in your prayers as they prepare to receive this Sacrament. For queries please email the team – hrym.swindon@cliftondiocese.com

Registration for 2021 Confirmation Programme will be available from 1st July 2020.
