The sacrament of confirmation completes the sacrament of baptism. If baptism is the sacrament of re-birth to a new and supernatural life, confirmation is the sacrament of maturity and coming of age. The real confession of Christ consist in this ‘that the whole man submits himself to Truth, in the judgment of his understanding, in the submission of his will and in the consecration of his whole power of love . . . To do this, poor-spirited man is only able when he has been confirmed by God’s grace’
Holy Rood Youth Ministry runs a comprehensive programme for Confirmation. We endeavour to make sessions fun, enjoyable and relevant to our Young People; because of this the programme is constantly being reviewed and revised. Currently, Confirmation Masses are celebrated in July, but this is subject to change. Details of the next programme will be advertised in the church newsletter and on the Youth Ministry noticeboards, as well as on this website.
Confirmation 2020 has been suspended until further notice. Candidates are being sent weekly questions and reflections to work on at home.
The 2020 Confirmation Calendar is available by clicking this link.
The date for registration for 2021 Confirmation Programme will be available once the situation is clear regarding the timing of this year’s programme.
